A CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN, and, particularly, to the electors of the RURAL WATER AUTHORITY OF DOUGLAS COUNTY, of DOUGLAS County, Colorado. The regular election of the eligible electors of the District shall be held on May 3, 2025, between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 11:00 A.M. pursuant to and in accordance with the Act, Code, Authority Bylaws and Election Rules and other applicable laws. At that time, seven (7) Directors will be elected for a term of four (4) years each. Eligible electors of the RURAL WATER AUTHORITY OF DOUGLAS COUNTY interested in serving on the board of directors may obtain a Self-Nomination and Acceptance form from Sarah E. E. Shepherd, at 1100 W Littleton Blvd #101, Littleton, CO, 80120, telephone: 303-482-1002, or email: sees@ccrider.us. The Office of the DEO is open on the following days, with call-ahead, due to the ongoing pandemic: Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a. m. to 4:00 p. m.

The deadline to submit a Self-Nomination and Acceptance form to be a Director for District #1, District #2, District #3, District #4, District #5, and Small Water Service Provider #1 and Small Water Service Provider #2  is at the close of business on Tuesday, February 25th, 2025. If the DEO determines that a Self-Nomination and Acceptance form is not sufficient, the eligible elector who submitted the form may amend the form once, at any time, prior to 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 25th, 2025. All Write-in Candidates must file affidavits to be a write-in candidate and acceptance form to be a no later than 5:00 P.M. on April 4, 2025.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN, that Election Day will occur during the Authority Board's Regular Biennial Meeting from 9 a. m. to 11 a. m., Saturday, May 3, 2025 via Zoom, unless otherwise noted and posted on the Board's April agenda, with any changes.

The Board of Directors of the Rural Water Authority of Douglas County held a regular election at its Biennial Meeting on May 6, 2017. The following qualified electors were elected to positions on the Board for terms beginning in 2017:

District Directors
District 1 – Mary Lynch
District 2 – Jack Delaney
District 3 – vacant
District 4 – vacant
District 5 – Chris Kennedy

The positions of District Director 3, District Director 4, and Small Water System Provider 2 are currently vacant. The present Board of Directors can fill these positions by appointment of qualified residents who reside in the RWADC Service Area in those respective jurisdictions. Each Small Water System Provider that has joined the RWADC as a Party or Participant elects its Director to sit on the Board.
