Since 2011, the RWADC has partnered with the U.S. Geological Survey to physically monitor changes in the Denver Basin groundwater aquifer levels in rural Douglas County. On a set schedule, manual and automated water-level measurements are collected from a network of 36 rural domestic wells.

The RWADC shares the cost of this monitoring program with the USGS. We are a nonprofit entity and have no funding from the County or State. Financial support from our constituents in any amount helps ensure this vital program continues. It provides critical data on the impacts of growth and groundwater usage in rural Douglas County.
